Fixin to Thrill: A blog for Fashion Lovers

Happy Monday you animals! How was your Easter weekend? Did you do family stuff or just take advantage of friends/family being in town and rage all weekend?  I am completely exhausted, I mentioned this past week I was heading to Louisiana to a Casino/Spa and ending my weekend in San Antonio at a Spurs game. Well, the Casino/Spa ended up mostly just being Casino/Club, oops. I traded in the early nights for early mornings but not in the good way and we were not missing the Spurs, hello it was my first game! Plus my boyfriend may have lied to me and said it was Tim Duncan’s last game which just made me sad. I don’t really know why considering I don’t follow basketball or individual player’s careers but I felt like I needed to be there. So after being up pretty late, I won’t get into ugly numbers but it was bad we turned around and woke up a few later in order to make the six and half hour drive to San Antonio. Did I mention it was pouring rain around three hours of that? So nerve racking y’all but we made it and it was such a good game too!! I’m so glad we fought through the sluggishness and thoughts of home to keep on truckin it. You know those quotes you see on Instagram and Pinterest that say something like “I need an extra day between Sunday and Monday”? Well today I truly know what it is to have that feeling. Fun? Yeah, I’ll give it that but relaxing, absolutely not. First of all, if you ever hear me talking about a road trip anywhere again, ever, seriously ever, just stop me. It always starts off the same…the drive there, the anticipation is all the fuel you need to get you through the 4-6-8 hour drive. You know what’s ahead of you, excitement or relaxation, either way you have a vacay ahead of you so boom you grab your coffee, sunnies and suitcase and you’re off! You gas up, grab a kolache from Hruskas, pick your Pandora station and you’re on cloud 9. Vacation comes and goes. Crazy how the ride back is anything but the former, you’re exhausted, you’re not ready to end the vacation, either way you’re not having it. Ugh, all the while thinking to yourself or rather, as in my case, complaining out loud over and over “next time I’m flying” or “Why do I keep doing road trips when I know I hate the drive back so much” “Am I a masochist?” You know, the typical post road trip questions. So today I am in a post road trip funk. The kind of lethargic funk you get into after spending more than 10 hours in a car within 48 hours. But it’s Monday and just like most of the population I have stuff to do. Gotta get up, dress up and show up, which I’m sure is another quote I saw somewhere on Pinterest or Instagram. But that’s just what I intend to do, so I threw on this printed babydoll dress hoping the fun feel of the print will pep me up and distract everyone from my torpid face today.
