I’ve long been a supporter of vests, I’m a classic “third-piece kind of girl” and I don’t discriminate. I mean, come on, I can’t very well wear blazers or my leather jacket when it’s 105 degrees outside without melting or looking like a complete crazy person. Not only are vests a great alternative for my blazers or jackets when it’s too warm but they also come in the same great variety of styles as jackets. I love structured styles with a great print or modern details to throw on over a crop top and skirt, like my outfit here, or to wear in a business casual setting with slacks and a blouse. But I also enjoy a great casual style, like a cargo or denim to throw on with cutoffs. The longer lengths are also great for balancing out a “maybe” too short skirt that you aren’t ready to part with just yet, which I’m guilty of doing way too often. #sorryI’mNOTsorry Or my favorite double-duty use of a vest-keeping a dress from flowing too highly in the wind, causing a Marilyn moment. Then you could always just wear the vest as a dress itself in some cases, like I did here. Ah yes, vests have many uses in my life.
I thought I’d share some of my favorite styles for summer:
Vest: Chelsea 28 via Nordstrom Rack
Skirt: Leith via Nordstrom
Crop Top: Forever 21
