It’s officially the first day of Winter, which in Austin means very little. It’s actually warmer today than it has been in the last two weeks, but that’s Texas for you. Investing in coats isn’t high on our to-do lists. More often than not you’re likely to see people wearing medium weight quarter zips, light leather jackets or a true Austin favorite, a puffer vest. I’ve had a vest for as long as I can remember, it’s a must when the mornings start cold and the afternoons heat up but this Sarita vest is my first reversible style. I’ve yet to switch it up and wear the plush side out because the quilted side is so cute but knowing I have that option already makes this sleek, black style my favorite in my closet. There are pockets on both sides and reflective logos make it perfect for wearing over my active wear when I’m walking my dog too. Avalanche has a variety of coats, active wear, vests and pull overs all fully lined and most with feminine fits (right now if you use code GIFT30 you can take 30% off your entire order) they even have pet vests. I also got this Slalom printed pullover and it’s been a complete lifesaver on those colder than average morning runs. Plus it has thumb holes which is a must for sweaters if you ask me. Back to this vest though, I’ve had it for a few weeks and I’ve probably worn it at least 8 times already. It’s the easiest thing to throw on for added warmth without the fear of getting too hot later in the day and it just elevates otherwise basic looks like this one here. I paired it with a beanie and some rainboots on a slightly chilly and rainy day and instantly realized…This, this is perfect for Winter in Austin.
