I remember seeing trench coats with sheer detailing on the Dolce Gabbana SS18 Runway, I love the look. It screams Spring-time dressing. They are a romantic dream also a tad out of budget for me. Never one to be held down I decided to improvise!…OK, I’m sort of lying here. Technically, I scoured a few sites and found options that were out of budget and got discouraged so I stopped looking and eventually sort of forgot all about the trench coats I was once “obsessed” with. Then one lucky shopping trip I found this little dramatically structured, sheer sleeve bodysuit, oooh lala. So glam! Brought it home and decided to throw on a chic/casual blended look for breakfast and meetings around town. Always in need of a third piece but DEFINITELY not hiding these shoulders under a jacket I reached for a vest, specifically this one and voila! I looked in the mirror and was truly shocked at how much this reminded me of the styles I once searched everywhere for but felt more “me”.
I absolutely love when I can recreate a look using pieces I already own which is what I was able to achieve using two key items you need to grab before Spring. Having a long sleeveless duster vest is really important in recreating this look, you could also try a shorter style too as the length isn’t as important as it being sleeveless. I personally love the monochromatic look and think that it adds to the idea of it being one solid piece but you could also try a pot of color or even white polka dots. I can’t wait to try this combo with so many of my other vests!
