Strapless summer dresses are my saving grace; I will wear one just about anywhere. Today I wanted to show you just a few different ways to style this wardrobe staple. I grabbed this ikat printed beauty from Forever 21 and between then and this post it’s already sold out, don’t worry though I found some very similar options for you, both dresses and rompers! Now a strapless, cotton dress is perfect for throwing on over your bikini for a day at the pool or on the beach. It’s light weight and easy-on/easy-off ability make it an ideal choice. I paired mine with my favorite beach bag carry all & I talk about why it’s my favorite here, metallic sandals (similar), a large straw floppy hat and my gold Pura Vida Bracelet as an anklet.
With a few minor tweaks you can take the same dress from poolside to running errands in a pinch. Layering a leather jacket and adding boots is also a great option for cooler days or nights when you need just a little added warmth. I’ve been wearing my BCBGeneration leather jacket every chance I’ve gotten since scoring it on super sale here and I decided to add a little extra toughness with my Jeffrey Campbell Brit Boots, a black structured bag (here) and black sunglasses. Topped it all off with my floppy hat c/o Pink and Silver Fashion and tell me this outfit isn’t pretty bad ass?
Finally, going the opposite with all white details but still keeping “cool girl”, this look is brunch ready #amiright. This little deconstructed blazer brings a lightness and an edge to the look, same with the studded cross body bag. Simple, strappy, Betsey Johnson sandals feel light and ladylike and the look is finished with a set of Bollywood bangles and Cole Haan Sunnies.
You can create any of these looks using a strapless dress or romper like the ones below:
