6 Easy Ways to Add Color to Your Spring Wardrobe

May 2, 2018

USE JEWELRY TO ADD A POP OF COLOR

Statement jewelry is one of the simplest ways to add color to your wardrobe when the thought of wearing color seems scary or out of the norm for you. Plus costume jewelry can be found pretty inexpensively in a number of boutiques. Try a bold necklace or even tassel earrings in a bright shade. You’ll get more wear out of statement jewelry than you would a bold, loud piece of clothing so if you truly love a piece don’t be afraid to invest.

LET YOUR SUNGLASSES SHINE

Sunglasses are so simple to work into your look and you don’t even have to keep them on the entire time meaning that if it feels so weird having that pop of color on you can always just go inside!

INCORPORATE SHADES OF BLUSH

When color isn’t something you’re used to rocking it can feel overwhelming to go straight to a bold, bright hues. I introduce you to your new best friend, blush, this color is essentially a neutral so you may already have a few items in your rotation. Try color blocking different shades of blush or pairing blush with white to get a fun spring vibe.

LAYER COLOR UNDER YOUR USUAL PIECES

This may be easier in the fall or Winter, depending on where you live; I know the temperatures can rise pretty quickly here in Texas so our layering days are limited. But throw on a pop of color under your favorite romper or overall dress and boom-whole new look and a little color!

MAKEUP, LIPSTICK SPECIFICALLY

Makeup is probably the first place you ever really experimented with color. Probably not always successfully. No worries, we’ve all done the multi-purple shades of eyeshadow with the bright pink lip…no? Just me? Highly unlikely! All jokes aside though, adding a bold lip is a fun way to bring more color to your look and is as versatile as it comes. Find a few bold hues that work with your skin tone and have fun with them this Spring! My favorite bold lippies are classic red, an orange-red and a soft (but fierce) pink.

LOOK FOR PRINTS WITH A BIT OF COLOR INCORPORATED

These Motel shorts were an easy wear because they still felt very minimal and the shape was familiar. Sticking to my go-to silhouettes and keeping everything else in my look neutral made it easy to forget I was even wearing such a funky print.

I hope this gives you tons of inspiration; it’s so easy to freshen up your look by adding a touch of color and Spring is just the time to do it!
