Boutique Hotel in Tulum Town: Una Vida

November 27, 2019

The last time I visited Tulum I was beyond impressed with my hotel. I should have been too, I mean I did all the necessary research before booking, I browsed dozens of listings, both hotels and Airbnbs, compared every minor detail and then boom-I found the one! Una Vida Tulum, an eco friendly, bohemian, jungle escape. It was lush, chic, minimal, private and I knew it was going to be exactly what I needed. Read on for my weekend experience at Una Vida and what stood out to me.

Booking and checking in at Una Vida were both a breeze. When I booked my room online I received an email confirmation along with information on booking a shuttle from the airport as well, making everything extremely simple. Upon arrival to the hotel the staff was immediately welcoming and accommodating. They helped with luggage, made the check in process quick and gave an in depth tour of the property, noting all of the available services and hours they’d be available.

Book your stay at Una Vida through their website or on Booking.com.

The rooms at Una Vida

My suite, the ground floor suite, was bright and airy while still offering a feeling of privacy and seclusion, especially from the bedroom. It was a King bedroom with private ensuite bathroom that also had an outdoor bathtub and double shower. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t use the outdoor shower each and every time. Do you blame me? It’s not often I get to shower outside, I’m taking advantage of it! The bedroom itself has a large patio with a stunning garden view that makes you feel like you’re in a tree house or just secluded amongst the trees. Then in a detached second room, connected by a breezeway, you have the living & dining area with a fully functional kitchenette, lounging daybed and a private patio with pool view and outdoor lounge chairs.

The food at Una Vida

On site food is available either delivered to your suite or at a large, beautiful, communal table by the pool. We had breakfast there each morning and were very impressed with the plates offered. Tasty as they were beautiful-if you can imagine. I didn’t have dinner there during my stay but I did get a chance to see the night set up and it is magical you guys. They light tons of candles and have burning herbs like sage/eucalyptus or something that smells amazing and just sets the tone.

The vibes at Una Vida

Laidback, luxe and bohemian are the first words that come to mind when I think about the vibe at Una Vida. Most of the suites come with some sort of private outdoor lounging, either a hammock or cute hanging chair like the one I had, pictured below, perfect for just taking it all in.

All of the other guests were friendly, respectful and equally looking for a relaxed holiday. Plus, it’s a pet friendly hotel, with an adorable, super friendly Golden Retriever roaming the grounds most of the day. I even caught him sun bathing on a daybed at one point, it was so freaking cute. Just living his best life! It’s hard to not feel like you’re living your best life while at Una Vida!

Until next time Una Vida!
