Fixed to Thrill: Starting Over with CORT

October 31, 2019

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of CORT. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you ever seen something, had to have it and then wanted to completely change your entire home décor to fit around it? Stay with me… I’m walking down the streets of Tulum in pure bliss, trying to immerse myself in the culture when I stumble across this wall hanging macramé (a woven textile). Its B-E-A-utiful, cream in color and its fringe hangs 3-4 feet down the wall. I even parted ways with a beach towel just to make it fit in my suitcase. When I got back home I realized, this quite literally doesn’t match anything in my house and given the choice….. I’d rather start over then give up on this gem. Currently my décor is filled with modern/contemporary pieces, splashed with colorful artwork, motivational quotes and grey everything else. It was (and is) going to be a transition. Everything MUST GO!!! I have an idea to re-do everything in a “Southwestern Modern” style. But I have a few too many ideas #firstworldproblems

The daunting task of replacing every piece of furniture, knowing the amount of time it’s taken to curate and accumulate it felt overwhelming. But surrounding myself with décor that inspires me brings me so much joy and contentment so the show must go on. However, replacing everything isn’t  even my biggest issue. Like I mentioned, I’m back and forth about everything, I can’t seem to decide on a piece knowing that it’s going to be in my home for a long period of time. It’s such an investment these days to refurnish your home with quality items. I don’t wan’t buyers remorse! What if this new decor style isn’t “me” after all? What if I move to the beach here soon, and the colors and fabrics I want will be different… There’s so much to consider, it’s stressful! I bought these two black leather chairs a while back and they are sooo modern, they used to be my style but even when they fit my aesthetic they were the absolute worst to sit in. They still look basically new because nobody likes to sit in them…I don’t want that again. I want something both aesthetically pleasing and practical.

Thankfully, I found CORTCORT Furniture Rental offers furniture rental options that took the stress out of redecorating for me. CORT offers everything from wall art, plants and kitchenware. With CORT I can opt for short term arrangements since I’m not ready to commit for the next 5-10 years. This is also ideal if you plan to relocate and happen to choose a city with CORT available. You guys know Miami has been in the works for me for a bit and every time I start to plan my relocation, CORT is on my to-do list. That means that I can decorate one way while I’m here and then if (when) I move to the beach I’m able to choose a whole new look for there! For me, I think it’s going to be a great way to test out a leather couch or just completely rethink the style of my home without the extreme commitment. Check the CORT blog out online for inspiration and to see if there’s a location available in your area. Then browse their online inventory or schedule a showroom visit to see the furniture in person and have an associate help you to plan your space. I’ll keep you posted on my home transition and my local CORT Showroom visit so stay tuned and be sure you’re following me on Instagram for all of the behind the scenes fun!
