Miami has no shortage of coffee shops. From Cuban cafecitos and trendy Wynwood cafés to neighborhood bakeries and laptop-friendly spots, there’s something for just about every coffee drinker.

After living in Miami for five years, I definitely developed a few favorites. Some were places I’d go out of my way to visit, while others became part of my everyday routine because they were near my apartment or office.

And honestly, those everyday spots are sometimes the best ones.

Whether you’re looking for a great latte, somewhere to work remotely, a coffee shop with delicious pastries, or a relaxed place to spend your morning, these are six Miami coffee shops I genuinely enjoyed and would recommend.

1. Suite Habana Café — Best Coffee Shop in Miami Overall

Neighborhood: Miami Beach (formerly Wynwood)

If I had to choose just one coffee shop in Miami, it would be Suite Habana.

When I lived in Miami, this little café was tucked between Midtown and Wynwood, and it quickly became one of my favorite places to grab a coffee or settle in with my laptop.

The atmosphere was quaint but effortlessly cool, and the owners were always incredibly sweet. It had that neighborhood coffee shop feeling that makes you want to keep coming back.

But what really won me over were the drinks.

Their lattes and matcha lattes were some of my absolute favorites in Miami. And considering how many coffee shops I visited while living there, that’s saying something!

Important update: Suite Habana closed its original Wynwood location in April 2026 and relocated to Miami Beach. You’ll now find it at 1670 James Avenue, inside the Crest Hotel & Suites. Although I haven’t personally visited the new space, I’m happy the café itself is still around.

Why I’d recommend it: The coffee, the welcoming atmosphere and the people behind it made Suite Habana my favorite.

2. Paolo Fontanot — Best for Coffee and Pastries

Neighborhood: Edgewater

You know a coffee shop is good when you live across the street from it and still look forward to going.

That was Paolo Fontanot for me.

When I lived in Edgewater, this Italian bakery and café was directly across from my apartment building, making it an incredibly convenient stop for coffee, breakfast or lunch.

But convenience wasn’t the only reason I loved it.

One of my favorite things about Paolo Fontanot was the space itself. It was larger than some of the other neighborhood cafés, with big windows that let in plenty of natural light.

I’m a sucker for a bright, airy coffee shop, especially when I want to sit for a while rather than grab something to go.

And then there were the pastries.

Seriously, don’t walk into Paolo Fontanot thinking you’re only getting coffee. Their pastry selection made it nearly impossible to leave without picking up something extra.

Although I had another café literally downstairs from my apartment, Paolo Fontanot was usually my first choice, especially when I was craving something sweet.

The café is also conveniently located near Margaret Pace Park, making it an easy stop before or after a neighborhood walk.

Why I’d recommend it: The natural light, spacious interior and pastries. It’s exactly the kind of café where I’d happily linger.

3. Pinocchio on the Bay — Best Dog-Friendly Neighborhood Café

Neighborhood: Edgewater

Pinocchio was about as convenient as a coffee shop could possibly get.

It was located directly downstairs from my apartment building.

While Paolo Fontanot was usually my first choice for coffee and pastries, Pinocchio was another neighborhood favorite for an entirely different reason.

It was the kind of place where you could stop in for coffee in the morning, grab a bite to eat later in the day or even enjoy a glass of wine.

And the food was genuinely good!

One of my favorite things about Pinocchio was its outdoor patio, which sat across from the neighborhood dog park.

If I had my pup with me, it was such an easy place to stop and enjoy a little break.

That’s something I loved about living in Edgewater. Between Margaret Pace Park, the waterfront and neighborhood cafés like Pinocchio, there were plenty of opportunities to get outside without having to drive somewhere.

Pinocchio felt less like a destination coffee shop and more like an extension of the neighborhood.

And sometimes that’s exactly what you want.

Why I’d recommend it: Great food, coffee, wine and a convenient patio for a casual stop with your dog.

4. Crema Gourmet — Best Coffee Shop in Downtown Miami for Working Remotely

Neighborhood: Downtown Miami

If you’re looking for a coffee shop in Downtown Miami where you can open your laptop and get some work done, Crema Gourmet is one I’d recommend.

When I worked in Downtown Miami, there was a Crema location near my office, so it became one of my regular stops.

Some days I’d grab a coffee and lunch before heading back to work. Other days, I’d bring my laptop and work from the café for a while.

I always appreciated having somewhere nearby where I could comfortably sit down, order food and spend a little time working outside the office.

Crema is also a good option when you’re looking for something more substantial than coffee and a pastry.

Their menu includes breakfast and lunch options, making it easy to turn a quick coffee run into a proper meal.

The Downtown Miami location currently lists free Wi-Fi, power outlets and laptop-friendly seating among its amenities.

If you’re visiting Miami and need somewhere to catch up on emails, get a little work done or take a break between exploring, it’s worth keeping on your list.

5. Cafe Bastille Downtown Miami – Best for: Coffee & French Inspired Brunch

If you’re looking for somewhere in Downtown Miami to enjoy a great cup of coffee and an equally delicious brunch, Café Bastille is definitely worth adding to your list!

This French-inspired café was another favorite of mine while living in Miami. I loved that it was somewhere I could stop for coffee but also sit down and enjoy a proper brunch when I had a little more time.

With a menu full of breakfast favorites, pastries, and specialty coffees, it’s a great option whether you’re starting your morning or meeting friends for brunch.

Why I’d recommend it: Great coffee, delicious brunch, and a little French café experience right in Downtown Miami.

6. Miam Café — Best Coffee and Brunch Stop in Wynwood

Neighborhood: Wynwood

Wynwood is one of my favorite Miami neighborhoods to explore, and Miam Café is another spot I enjoyed visiting while living in the city.

If you’re spending the morning wandering around Wynwood, checking out the street art or browsing the neighborhood’s shops, it’s a great area to plan a coffee stop.

Miam is more than somewhere to grab a quick caffeine fix.

It’s a café where you can sit down for breakfast or brunch, making it a good option when you want to start your day with coffee and something to eat before exploring.

The café serves coffee alongside breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes. Try a charcoal croissant or the egg sandwich and thank me later.

I’d particularly consider Miam when planning a morning in Wynwood rather than making a separate trip just for coffee.

Why I’d recommend it: A convenient coffee-and-brunch stop while exploring Wynwood.

7. JOE & THE JUICE — Best for a Casual Coffee Break or Laptop Session

Neighborhoods: Wynwood and Miami Beach

I know, I know. JOE & THE JUICE isn’t exactly a hidden Miami gem.

But sometimes a familiar café is exactly what you need.

While living in Miami, I visited both the Wynwood location and a location on the western side of Miami Beach.

I’d occasionally bring my laptop and work from either one, making them convenient options when I wanted a change of scenery.

What I liked about JOE & THE JUICE was that it worked for different kinds of visits.

You could stop in for a quick drink or spend a little more time sitting down.

And because it’s a chain, it’s also an easy option to recognize when you’re visiting a new neighborhood.

It may not have the same independent, neighborhood charm as Suite Habana or Paolo Fontanot, but it earned a place on my list because I genuinely went there.

Why I’d recommend it: A convenient, casual café for a coffee break or a change of scenery while working.

Where to Find the Best Coffee Shops in Miami by Neighborhood

One thing worth knowing before visiting Miami is that the city is spread out.

Miami Beach, Wynwood, Edgewater and Downtown Miami are separate areas, and traffic can make traveling between them more time-consuming than you might expect.

Rather than driving across the city for a single cup of coffee, I’d recommend finding a great café near wherever you’re already planning to spend your day.

Suite Habana would be my first choice, especially if you’re looking for a coffee-focused stop.

JOE & THE JUICE is another convenient option, depending on which part of Miami Beach you’re visiting.

I’d recommend Miam Café if you want to combine coffee with breakfast or brunch.

JOE & THE JUICE is another option if you’re looking for a casual stop.

Best Coffee Shops in Edgewater

This is the neighborhood I know especially well because I lived there.

Paolo Fontanot would be my first choice for coffee and pastries, while Pinocchio on the Bay is a great option for a relaxed meal or a stop with your dog.

Both are close to Margaret Pace Park.

Crema Gourmet was one of my regular stops when I worked Downtown.

It’s particularly convenient if you’re looking for coffee, lunch or somewhere to spend a little time working.

Best Miami Coffee Shops for Working Remotely

When I lived in Miami, I frequently brought my laptop to cafés.

Sometimes I needed to get actual work done, and other times I simply wanted to answer emails somewhere other than my apartment or office.

Of the coffee shops on this list, these were my go-to options:

Crema Gourmet: One of my most regular workday stops, especially when I wanted to combine coffee and lunch.

JOE & THE JUICE: A casual option where I occasionally worked from both the Wynwood and Miami Beach locations.

Suite Habana: I loved bringing my laptop to the original Wynwood location. Just remember that the café has since relocated, so I can’t personally speak to the work setup at its new Miami Beach space.

Paolo Fontanot: A bright, spacious café where I particularly enjoyed the atmosphere and natural light.

One tip: Always check a café’s current laptop and Wi-Fi policies before planning to work there for several hours. Policies can change, especially during busy periods.

My Favorite Coffee Shop in Miami? Suite Habana.

If you’re only going to visit one coffee shop from this list, I’d choose Suite Habana.

Even after living in Miami for five years and trying plenty of different cafés, it remained my favorite.

I loved the coffee, the atmosphere and the people.

But if you’re staying in Edgewater, I’d absolutely recommend stopping by Paolo Fontanot for coffee and pastries.

And if you’re working remotely in Downtown Miami, Crema is an easy choice.

Ultimately, the best coffee shop depends on what you’re looking for.

Sometimes you want an incredible latte. Sometimes you want somewhere bright and comfortable to work. And sometimes you just want a neighborhood café where you can sit outside with your dog.

Miami has all three.
